Grizzly Bear Hunting
Expect to Feel Like a Kid Again

Grizzlies and Brown Bears
Although very similar, brown bears are larger and live within 100 miles of the coast where they feed on nutrient-rich fish in the rivers and tributaries. Grizzly bears are smaller, much more aggressive and live more than 100 miles from the coast. They eat whatever they can to survive and are much more dangerous when encountering humans.
Grizzly Bear Hunting Season
Alaska’s grizzly bear hunt occurs in April through May and another season is available in September.
Hunting Base
All grizzly bear hunts are based out of Kotzebue, Alaska. You’ll take a flight from your location to Anchorage and than an Alaska Airlines flight from Anchorage to Kotzebue. There are usually three flights per day. Our staff will meet you at the airport and help get your gear to the hotel or to our place of lodging.
The weather around the Kotzebue Sound and into the Brooks Range can vary greatly. We do not fly if there is any chance we may be putting anyone at risk. Make sure you are prepared with information on accommodations in Kotzebue regardless of the weather forecast for your arrival.

The guide will help with cooking, safety and the care of your bear’s hide.
Guided Hunts Do Not Include
